cappadoccia #3

a series of views of Erciyes Mountain from Ucagiz Castle.

cappadoccia #2.2

trip to cappadoccia in November.
part 2.2: in the valley

besides of its genuine beauty, the officers and/or workers of the göreme valley create a great contrast with it. at one hand the silent, secret and calm mysteries of the past, on the other hand sunflower-seed-eating, chatting, not-working officers of the place.

lomo #2

views from a vacation in kas, a small town in antalya, turkey.

lomo #1

my first roll shot by my new diana camera. i had difficulties in framing and rolling the film, so lots of cut-off pictures and overlapping. still, i’m enjoying using this camera.

istanbul #1

istanbul is probably one of the most sophisticated and chaotic towns in the world. here, it is like the matrix, some rules can be bent, some can be broken.
my istanbul photographs mostly focus on the extraordinary and unusual views of the city. such as nightviews, back streets or handsellers.

portraits

taking portraits is what i enjoy the most. i don’t see the person as he/she is but more like an object interacting with its envionment, thus completing the composition.

berlin

berlin is my favourite city among the limited part of the world i have seen. these photographs were made in various visits between 2004 and 2007.

other cities

other cities i’ve visited.

bremen

i have visited and lived in bremen for a while. it’s a small but lively and cute city of northern germany. these photos are mostly taken in 2006 and 2007.

extending reality

graphical extensions of photographic reality.
these photographs were exhibited in istanbul technical university in 2004. drawings made by alican tezer.

#1 nightview from ferahevler nr.1 : one of the shots taken from my house’s terrace. i like the pattern formed by the houses’ lights and that the moon looks like the sun.
istanbul, 2004

#2 lion on the courtyard : the water-spitting lion next to the pool on the courtyard of taskisla (itü architecture faculty builting). shot with my pinhole camera. the watermarks on the photo are intentionally left during development.
istanbul, 2004

#3 stuck between the jars : burcu kaya kizilöz cooking in an chinese restaurant. i like that the focus of the photograph is really small and framed strictly by the objects in the foreground.
istanbul, 2003

#4 self-portrait nr.1 : self-portrait shot on an overpass in sapanca.
izmit, 2004

#5 hand in bucharest : a shot reflecting my tremendously boring days in bucharest.
bucharest, 2003

#6 i am cool : an unknown child in front of a market, who practically posed for me for abour 5 minutes.
berlin, 2005

#7 dry your hair : eren beyazyildirim dryin his hair in a dormroom in sababnci university.
istanbul, 2003

#8 waiting for the train : on the hamburg main train station.
hamburg, 2004
