My First Manifesto [Ilk Manifestom], 2020, Avsar Gürpınar


I do not want to produce artworks.
I aspire to construct an artistic environment,
not full of information but of details,
a symbiotic convention of objects,
that leaves an impression on the visitor, who is yet another object,
certain thoughts, uncertain thoughts, an amalgam of emotions.
Let the visitor be immersed in this environment,
be in peace with not entirely ‘getting it’, for there is ‘nothing’ to ‘get’.
I want the visitor to be affected by everyday life through me.
I want to be a mediator.
I don't want people to understand me, but themselves,
not my world but the world that they are living in, their world.
I wish to create a split, a rupture in time, in space, in the psyche,
where everything repeats itself but different each time, for every person.
I want my objects to be transmitters of ambiguous impressions through their interrelations,
to be resonated forever within the unconsciousness...
The experience should not be reduced to the meaning in its entirety, thus be degraded.


Sanat eserleri üretmek istemiyorum.
Sanatsal bir ortam olusturmak arzusundayım,
bilgiyle degil, detayla dolu,
simbiyotik bir nesneler toplantısı;
bizatihi bir nesne olan ziyaretçide bir izlenim bırakan,
belli fikirler, belirsiz fikirler, bir hisler alasımı tetikleyen.
Ziyaretçi bu ortama gömülsün,
her seyi tam olarak kavrayamamakla barısık olsun, zira “kavranacak” bir “sey” yok.
Ziyaretçi benim aracılıgımla gündelik yasamdan etkilensin istiyorum.
Bir aracı olmak istiyorum.
Insanların beni degil, kendilerini,
benim dünyamı degil, içinde yasadıkları dünyayı, kendi dünyalarını anlamasını istiyorum.
Temennim, zamanda, mekanda, tinde bir yarık, kırılma, yırtılma yaratmak,
her seyin her an, herkes için kendini farklı sekillerde tekrarlayadurdugu.
Nesnelerimin, ortakyasamları aracılıgıyla, muglak izlenim vericilerine dönüsmesini istiyorum,
bilinçdısında, sonsuza dek tınlayacak...
Deneyimin külliyen anlama tahvil edilerek yozlastırılmasına karsıyım.
